We are team Eklavya – a troop of engineering student from VIT university with a key interest in Civil Engineering. Our interest has led us towards our goal now –
to build a canoe made of concrete and a bridge made out of steel . We have done this thrice, initially in the IIT Madras National Competition, but the other two
that we have done are pretty much the biggest concrete competition around the globe – ASCE National Concrete Competition, North Carolina. This makes us one of the
only two International teams that are being given this honour.
We are ‘Civil Engineers’, we build, break and build again! We are among the very few teams in India that wish to take application of civil engineering up by a notch.
The ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC)/ National Student Steel Bridge Competition provides students with a practical
application of the engineering principles they learn in the classroom, along with important team and project management skills they will need in their careers. The event
challenges the students’ knowledge, creativity and stamina, while showcasing the versatility and durability of concrete as a building material.
